What is Freemium?
Some apps can be downloaded for free, but require purchases from within the app to access additional features. These are commonly called Freemium apps. Freemium comes from a combination of the words Free and Premium, where free refers to the download of the app, and premium to the content purchased within the app. Some common examples of this are news apps that sell a subscription to their content, games that sell new levels or extra lives, and photo editing apps that sell new filters or editing tools.
