From the early days of science fiction there have been computers that can speak to and interact with humans in books and film. Today, Google and other companies are beginning to turn that fiction into reality. Google Now is an intelligent personal assistant on Android devices that detects and responds to voice commands. If you ask it to, Google Now can make phone calls, search the Internet, give you driving directions, and perform a variety of other tasks.
Google Now is compatible only with devices running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and later. To check what operating system your device is using, open your device Settings app and swipe up until you see 'About phone' or 'About tablet.' Tap on 'About' to access technical information about your device, including the version of Android it is running.
